History of Innova Preparatory School
Innova Prep was founded in 2021 in response to a clear and growing need within the Mississippi community: bright, capable students with dyslexia, autism, ADD, ADHD, and other neurodiverse learning profiles who were not thriving in traditional school settings.
The school was established with the understanding that neurodivergent learners require more than accommodations—they need an educational environment intentionally designed to support how they learn, think, and process the world. What began as a small, focused program quickly grew as families sought a school that could provide both specialized instruction and a complete, uninterrupted academic pathway.
Built on decades of research in structured literacy and evidence-based, language-informed instruction, Innova Prep has grown into a trusted school community serving students across elementary, middle, and high school. Today, Innova Prep is the only school of its kind in Mississippi to offer a traditional high school diploma, be dually accredited through the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) and the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), and serve students through 12th grade.
This distinction is especially critical in a state where neurodivergent learners face significant educational barriers and experience nearly a 20% dropout rate. Innova Prep was intentionally designed to address this gap—providing students not only with targeted academic support, but also continuity, stability, and a clear path to graduation.
Throughout its history, Innova Prep has remained grounded in its founding purpose: to deliver individualized instruction, expert support, and an affirming school environment where neurodiverse students are understood, challenged appropriately, and empowered to succeed—academically and beyond.
