Admissions Process

Innova Prep is now accepting applications for all three academies for the 2026–27 school year. Enrollment is open to all learners in grades 1–12 — no diagnosis required for the College Prep Academy.

We know that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family makes. Our admissions process is designed to be clear, supportive, and responsive. Start with a tour. Meet our team. See the school in action.

Innova Prep is one of only five state-approved schools for the Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship. If your child has a qualifying diagnosis, this scholarship can significantly offset tuition costs.

How to Apply

Below you will find a step by step guide for our admissions process.

  1. Submit an inquiry
  2. Once your inquiry has been received by the admissions office, you will receive a phone call to obtain more information and to schedule a tour of the school.
  3. Visit the school for your scheduled tour, and talk with Dr. Murphy, our Executive Director, about your child and their needs.
  4. At the end of your tour you will receive a folder that contains important information about our school as well as an enrollment application and scholarship applications if applicable.
  5. Complete all paperwork inside your folder and return it in order to ensure a quick turnaround.
  6. Once the admissions team has reviewed your application and supporting documentation, they will make an enrollment decision.
  7. Once a decision has been made, you will receive a call from the admissions office notifying you of the decision and next steps.

Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship

The Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship

The Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship is a state-funded program that helps eligible students with dyslexia receive specialized dyslexia therapy at a state-approved nonpublic special purpose school. The scholarship is administered by the Mississippi Department of Education's Office of Intervention Services and is designed to ensure that children with dyslexia have access to the structured, evidence-based instruction they need to become confident, successful readers.

Innova Prep is proud to be one of the five MDE-approved schools in the state authorized to accept students receiving this scholarship — and we are uniquely positioned to serve students in grades 1st through 12th, thanks to our dyslexia maintenance program that continues supporting students well beyond the initial years of therapy.

Who Qualifies

To be eligible for the Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship at Innova Prep, a student must:

  • Be a resident of Mississippi
  • Be entering or currently enrolled in grades 1st–12th
  • Have been enrolled in a Mississippi public school for at least one full year immediately prior to applying*
  • Have a formal diagnosis of dyslexia from a licensed professional (such as a psychologist, neuropsychologist, speech-language pathologist, or other qualified evaluator) based on comprehensive testing that assesses phonological processing, decoding, fluency, and related areas
  • Have documentation showing the dyslexia diagnosis and the recommendation for dyslexia therapy
  • Be accepted for enrollment at Innova Prep

What It Covers

At Innova Prep, students receiving the Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship receive dyslexia therapy 5 days per week, fully included in their tuition — delivered by trained therapists using multisensory, structured literacy approaches (such as Orton-Gillingham-based instruction). The scholarship covers a good portion of the tuition, providing families with a significant discount on the cost of enrollment. Students also have continued access to our dyslexia maintenance program — ongoing support that reinforces skills, builds confidence, and helps students carry their progress through middle school, high school, and beyond.

Important Note for Homeschool and Private School Families

Because the Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship is a public-school transfer program, a student must be coming directly from a Mississippi public school (with at least one full year of enrollment) in order to qualify. Families should be aware that withdrawing a child from public school to homeschool — or to enroll in another private school — before applying to Innova Prep can impact, delay, or even disqualify a student's eligibility for the scholarship. If you are considering a transition for your child, we strongly encourage you to contact Innova Prep before withdrawing from public school, so we can help you plan the move without jeopardizing your scholarship eligibility.

Already Withdrawn? Please Don't Be Discouraged — Reach Out to Us.

If your child has already been withdrawn from public school and is currently being homeschooled or attending another private school, please do not assume the door to the scholarship is closed. Every family's situation is different, and there are often pathways forward that aren't obvious at first glance. Contact Innova Prep as soon as possible and our team will walk through your circumstances with you, explore available options, and help you chart the best possible next steps for your child. We are here to support you — and we would much rather have a conversation than have a family miss out on an opportunity that could change their child's life.
